Guide Path, LLC is proud to announce a groundbreaking partnership with Hands 4Life to provide comprehensive risk management certification and culture change solutions for the Alexander Shewey Intergenerational Memorial Home in Owerri, Nigeria. This collaboration marks a major initiative aimed at educating, training, and empowering executive leadership, caregivers, and the entire community through Guide Path’s certification program and resources. Together, we are setting new global standards for older adult care in economically developing countries.

Guide Path is honored to have joined forces with Father Theodore Inhenetu, a passionate advocate for senior care who has been serving the elderly in Nigeria since 2015. Father Theodore, the lead navigator for the Hands 4Life team and the Guide Path training, education, and Commitment Plans, has made significant strides in caring for a vulnerable population while championing their rights through Nigeria’s Coalition for the Rights of Older Persons. His leadership and deep commitment are integral to advancing this collaboration.

Rebecca Adelman, Esq., Founder and Chief Visionary Officer of Guide Path, expressed her enthusiasm:

“It is with great joy and a shared passion for intergenerational housing and services that Guide Path proudly supports Hands 4Life with risk management solutions and certification for the Nigerian community. We believe that culture change is essential to improving senior living, and this partnership allows us to provide innovative tools for caregivers and staff to foster positive, lasting transformations in care.”

Guide Path’s global certification program integrates culture change training to equip caregivers with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complexities of senior living. The program emphasizes cultural sensitivity training, creating home-like environments, and building partnerships with schools and worship centers, all of which foster intergenerational bonds that are vital for sustainable communities.

By setting these new standards of care, Guide Path ensures that staff are educated and empowered to provide compassionate, culturally informed care that enhances the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of older adults. The certification training began September 5, 2025, culminating with the first of nine initiatives. The Culture Change in Senior Living Commitment Plan developed for the Alexander Shewey Home is a blueprint for creating environments where residents feel truly connected and respected.

Stacey Shewey, Founder of Hands 4Life, shared her thoughts on the partnership:
“We are honored to collaborate with Guide Path to bring much-needed resources and education to the Alexander Shewey Intergenerational Memorial Home. Our mission has always been to serve vulnerable populations from ‘womb to tomb,’ and with Guide Path’s expertise, we are ensuring that our caregivers are equipped to provide high-quality care for older adults while nurturing intergenerational connections.”

This collaboration also brings risk management to the forefront of senior living. Through the Guide Path Certification, staff and leaders will receive training on proactive strategies to identify and mitigate risks, which not only protects the residents but also enhances the overall quality of care.

The Alexander Shewey Intergenerational Memorial Home, named in honor of the Shewey family’s late son, Alex, stands as a beacon of hope and resilience. As the first intergenerational community of its kind in Nigeria, it symbolizes the power of community-based care and sets a new precedent for underdeveloped regions seeking to address the needs of their aging populations.

This partnership underscores Guide Path’s belief that caring for others transcends borders and is a powerful reminder of the importance of fostering culture change and intergenerational connections across all communities. By joining hands with Hands 4Life, Guide Path is advancing a shared mission to improve the lives of older adults, caregivers, and children, not only in Nigeria but throughout the world.
