Celebrating the Completion of Our First Global Cohort

This Fall, we proudly completed our first international Guide Path Certification Cohort, in partnership with Hands 4Life and the Institute for Bio-Phytomedicine and Physiatry (IBPP) in Nigeria.

Over the course of nine modules, our participants engaged deeply with Guide Path’s internationally accredited curriculum—exploring key themes such as risk management, culture change, expectations management, trauma-informed care, and empathic leadership. Each weekend session offered a blend of education, reflection, and community building, adapted for this pilot cohort through WhatsApp and Zoom. Now, our certified participants will be entering the fieldwork phase, applying their training in real-world caregiving roles across homes and healthcare settings in Nigeria and beyond.

This pilot marks not just the end of a training cycle—but the beginning of a movement.

Meet the Wisdom Behind the Certification: Spotlight on Our Strategic Partners

The strength of the Guide Path Certification Program lies in its content—and that content is made even more powerful by the leaders and organizations who support it. The Guide Path Senior Living Wisdom Center brings together a global network of experts, educators, and thought leaders who have helped shape the program from the inside out.

Here are just a few of the remarkable contributors whose voices echo through our modules:

Mental Health & Palliative Care: Mettle Health

The Mettle Health team, led by palliative care experts and clinicians, delivers the Palliative Care Module in our curriculum. Their approach to whole-person care supports individuals and caregivers in navigating the practical, emotional, and existential aspects of aging, chronic illness, and end-of-life experiences.

Trauma-Informed Practice: Paige Hector

A nationally recognized speaker, educator, and consultant, Paige Hector of Paige Hector Healthcare Education & Consulting leads our Trauma-Informed Care Module. Paige’s dynamic teaching helps participants translate trauma theory into everyday caregiving practice—emphasizing empathy, boundaries, and real-world communication.

Leadership and Communication: Empathic Leadership Institute

Francois Beausoleil, founder of the Empathic Leadership Institute, delivers our core training in Compassionate Communication and Empathic Leadership. His insights equip participants to lead with authenticity, navigate difficult conversations, and build trust-centered relationships in high-stakes environments.

These partners—and many others featured in the Wisdom Center—offer trusted, curated resources aligned with each of the nine Guide Path modules, allowing communities, families, and professionals to deepen their learning at their own pace.

The Voices of Care Campaign: Stories That Inspire

To honor the individuals behind our first global certification journey, we’re launching the Voices of Care campaign—a series highlighting the stories, reflections, and professional growth of our Nigerian cohort participants.

From securing new jobs to transforming their approach to care, our graduates share how the program empowered them personally and professionally. Their voices illustrate what’s possible when education, mentorship, and a deep sense of mission come together.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing these stories across our platforms—starting with Sr. Immaculata, Modestus, and Mrs. Genevieve, whose powerful testimonials speak to the impact of the certification both at home and abroad.

Looking Ahead

As our certified cohort begins their community fieldwork and internship experiences, Guide Path remains committed to supporting their development with mentorship, assessments, and continued learning opportunities. This Train-the-Trainer model, supported by local leadership and international collaboration, will serve as the foundation for future cohorts across Nigeria and, ultimately, other regions.

Our goal is clear: to empower leaders and caregivers with skills, credibility, and compassion—no matter where they live or serve.
